Designed to make a
difference

The philosophy and key to the success of ZF SACHS Race Engineering has been the constant search for improvement and the willingness to push the boundaries of what is possible. The precise engineering and quality has resulted in SACHS Performance clutches and suspensions becoming an integral part of the world's most successful race cars.

Clutch Disc
SACHS RCS 184 2.6

Sintered metal 2.6 mm, rigid hub design

The SACHS RCS 184 2.6 sintered clutch disc is the choice for maximum agility in motorsport. A 184 mm diameter, 2.6 mm lining thickness and ultra-low rotating mass deliver razor-sharp response, a precise bite point and lightning-fast engagement - ideal for club racing, touring cars and rally.

The friction lining is sintered directly onto the carrier plate, keeping the assembly stiff and highly responsive. Versus 5.2 mm variants, the 2.6 mm disc offers the lowest moment of inertia and the most immediate reaction; versus 7.8 mm it is significantly lighter and more agile - intentionally with a smaller wear reserve for sprints, qualifying and short load windows.

In diameter, RCS 184 sits between RCS 140 and RCS 200: more thermal capacity and torque potential than 140 mm while retaining very low inertia, yet notably more compact and reactive than 200 mm. Result: a performance-focused sweet spot for hard launches, clean pull-aways and reliable torque transfer.

The Technology

Clutch lining - sintered metal

The SACHS RCS 184 2.6 sintered clutch disc from ZF Motorsport is built for peak performance. Compared with organic clutch discs it is markedly more heat-resistant, more stable at high revs and less sensitive to dirt and oil.

The specialized sintered friction material delivers an aggressive response with hard launches and instant engagement off the line. It also handles significantly higher torque, making it ideal for high-output race cars.

As a core element of the modular SACHS RCS 184 clutch system, it is perfectly matched to motorsport use - from rally to formula to circuit racing.

SACHS RCS hub

SACHS RCS 184 2.6 clutch discs are available with various hub profiles precisely matched to the gearbox input shaft. This ensures exact fit, dependable torque transfer and maximum durability in competitive use.

Hubs are also offered in multiple lengths (extra short, short, medium, long) to suit the available space and achieve correct actuation. The modular RCS 184 concept from ZF Motorsport enables a tailored racing clutch with minimal inertia and maximum performance.

Quality Made in Germany

ZF Race Engineering has been among the technology leaders in motorsport for years. The combined know-how from top-level racing flows directly into the development of RCS racing clutches. State-of-the-art manufacturing methods, the highest quality standards and motorsport technologies make ZF Motorsport clutches the first choice for maximum performance and reliability - on circuits as well as in rallying, touring and endurance racing.
