Designed to make a
difference
ZF Race Engineering's SACHS motorsport clutches have stood for top-tier quality in international racing for decades. The ambition: continuous improvement and the drive to keep pushing the limits. From the lightest clutch used in Formula 1 to proven twin-plate and multi-plate systems in WRC, DTM, NASCAR, Le Mans and the Dakar Rally - ZF Motorsport technology is a core component of many winning cars worldwide.

SACHS RCS 184 7.8
Organic 7.8 mm, rigid hub
The SACHS RCS 184 with an organic friction lining is the right choice when drivability and component protection matter. Its 184 mm diameter combines a compact package and low rotational inertia with ample friction area – ideal for track days, club sport, slalom and builds where a progressive pedal feel is key.
Compared with sintered-pad setups, the organic lining engages noticeably smoother and more predictably. That reduces shock loads in the driveline, protects gearbox and joints, and improves traction off the line and out of slow corners. NVH stays lower, while the bite point remains consistent over many stints.
Thermally, organic is more conservative than sintered pads, but the 184 mm platform delivers solid reserves thanks to greater friction area and even contact pressure. For moderate to mid temperature duty it offers stable, finely dosable torque transfer without the aggressiveness of a sinter solution.
The linings are securely bonded to the carrier plate to ensure consistent friction in the relevant temperature window. Bottom line: RCS 184 Organic – the balanced racing clutch for drivers who value controllable engagement, tyre and driveline protection, and consistent performance over maximum launch aggressiveness.

Advantages at a glance:

Technology
Friction lining - organic
The SACHS RCS 184 7.8 organic clutch disc from ZF Motorsport is a strong choice for performance driving and club racing. Organic is a relatively compliant friction material – kinder to the driveline, but less temperature resistant than sintered pads, therefore used less in extreme race starts.
Its capable organic lining delivers precise modulation and clean launch control for consistent starts.
As a core element of the modular SACHS RCS 184 clutch system, it is tailored for motorsport use – from slalom and historic applications to dedicated track day cars.
SACHS RCS hub
SACHS RCS 184 7.8 racing clutch discs are available with multiple hub splines precisely matched to the gearbox input shaft. That ensures perfect fit, reliable torque transfer and durability in hard motorsport use.
Hubs are also offered in different length variants (short, medium, long), so the clutch can be packaged to the available space with correct actuation. The modular RCS 184 concept by ZF Motorsport enables a bespoke racing clutch with low inertia as well as maximum performance and service life.
Quality Made in Germany
