Sintered metallic 7,8 mm, rigid design

The SACHS RCS 140 7.8 sintered metallic clutch disc is the first choice when maximum durability and thermal safety matter. With 7,8 mm lining thickness it offers the largest wear reserve in the RCS range, making it ideal for endurance racing, rally or applications with consistently high loads.

Compared with the 2,6 mm, 3,4 mm or 5,2 mm variants, the 7,8 mm disc provides significantly more friction material. This results in a much higher heat capacity, reduces temperature spikes and lowers the risk of fading or warping. At the same time, service intervals increase noticeably thanks to the large wear reserve – a clear advantage under extreme conditions.

The sinter pads applied to the carrier disc ensure stable, consistent friction behavior over the entire service life. Even under repeated full-load runs the bite point remains precise, launch behavior predictable and torque transfer reliable.

While thinner discs such as the 2,6 mm or 3,4 mm versions excel with low rotational inertia and quick response, the strength of the 7,8 mm clutch disc lies in its exceptional robustness and temperature stability. It is the right choice when maximum longevity and consistent performance over long distances are decisive.

The SACHS RCS 140 7.8 sintered metallic clutch disc from ZF Motorsport is the ideal choice for peak performance in racing. Compared with organic friction linings it is markedly more temperature resistant, stable at high rpm and insensitive to dirt and oil.

The special sintered metallic friction material delivers an aggressive response with hard launch characteristics and rapid engagement at race starts. It also allows significantly higher torque capacity, which makes the disc particularly suitable for high-power race cars.

As a core component of the modular SACHS RCS 140 clutch system, it is perfectly matched to motorsport use - from rally and autocross to circuit racing.

SACHS RCS hub

SACHS RCS 140 7.8 racing clutch discs are available with different hub profiles precisely matched to the respective gearbox input shaft. This ensures maximum fit accuracy, reliable power transmission and durability in demanding motorsport use.

In addition, hubs are available in different length options (short, medium, long). This allows optimal packaging in the available space and correct actuation. The modular ZF Motorsport RCS 140 system thus enables a tailored racing clutch with maximum performance, thermal robustness and service life.
