SACHS RCS 140 Clutch Intermediate Plate 003019000224
Intermediate plate (floater) for SACHS RCS 140 multi-plate racing clutches
The SACHS RCS 140 intermediate plate 003019000224 from ZF Motorsport works as a steel floater between the sintered friction discs of the 140 mm multi-plate clutch. It provides additional friction faces through which engine torque is transmitted and routes forces via its outer drive tabs into the RCS clutch housing. This distributes friction work across multiple planes so the RCS 140 can safely transmit high torque with a compact overall height.
Manufactured from high-strength steel with precisely finished friction faces, the intermediate plate is matched to the geometry of the SACHS RCS 140 racing clutch. Together with the corresponding pressure plate and approved sintered discs, it forms a stiff, thermally robust friction pack with a clearly predictable response in competition use.
During overhaul, the intermediate plate can be replaced selectively thanks to the modular RCS design. We recommend inspecting intermediate and friction discs together and replacing them if permissible runout or wear limits are exceeded to preserve torque capacity, pedal feel, and shift precision of the SACHS RCS 140 racing clutch over the long term.

Benefits at a glance:
Additional friction faces for high-torque 140 mm multi-plate systems
Geometry specifically matched to the SACHS RCS 140 racing clutch
High-strength steel intermediate plate for high thermal and fatigue resistance
Precisely machined contact faces for consistent, easily modulatable clutch characteristics
Service-friendly – replaceable as a single module

Technology
RCS 140 Intermediate Plate
Function: In the SACHS RCS 140 racing clutch, the intermediate plate sits between two sintered friction discs. It provides friction partners acting on both sides through which engine torque is transferred between friction discs and clutch housing. The additional friction faces allow the multi-plate clutch to handle more torque at the same diameter than a single-plate system.
Design: High-strength steel with finely finished friction faces, outer tabs/teeth for positive guidance in the RCS 140 housing. The plate is engineered for the mechanical and thermal loads typical of RCS 140 applications (circuit racing, rally, GT and touring car use) and supports an even wear pattern in the friction pack.
Compatibility: Intermediate plate 003019000224 is intended for approved SACHS RCS 140 multi-plate configurations. Use in combination with the specified RCS 140 sintered discs and matching pressure plate. Deviating or non-specified component combinations may adversely affect torque capacity and pedal feel.
Service note: At each overhaul, check intermediate plates for runout, thickness, and surface condition. If wear or warpage exceeds permissible limits, replace together with the sintered friction discs to restore the original performance of the SACHS RCS 140 racing clutch.
