The SACHS RCS 200 clutch housing is the central support structure for modular RCS 200 multi-plate racing clutches. It accommodates the pressure plate, intermediate plates and clutch discs, guides the components precisely and transfers torque within the SACHS Racing Clutch System.
The forged aluminium version is designed for high mechanical and thermal loads in motorsport. It combines low weight, reduced inertia, high housing rigidity and robust performance for reproducible clutch function in racing use.

The part number of the clutch housing must match the exact SACHS RCS 200 clutch configuration. The decisive factors are the number of discs, friction lining thickness, pressure plate, intermediate plates and the approved installation height of the clutch pack.

Technology
RCS 200 clutch housing
Function: The clutch housing accommodates the pressure plate, intermediate plates and clutch discs, guides the components precisely and transfers torque within the modular RCS system. The high housing rigidity supports defined modulation, stable component positioning and repeatable shift operations.
Design: High-strength forged aluminium with series-specific RCS 200 geometry. The forging process increases load capacity and enables a lightweight, torsionally rigid design with reduced moment of inertia.
Variants: The housing variants 003072000420 and 003072000421 are assigned to different RCS 200 clutch configurations. This allows the clutch housing to be selected to match the number of discs and the friction pack thickness.
Clamping force: In combination with the pressure plate, diaphragm spring, intermediate plates and clutch discs, the clutch housing contributes to precisely defined clamping force. This supports repeatable torque transfer and consistent engagement behaviour in motorsport use.
Coating: The full-surface, extremely wear-resistant aluminium coating reduces friction and fitting wear, protects against corrosion and improves the service life of the clutch housing in racing use.
Thermal management: The special housing geometry supports efficient heat dissipation and stabilises the temperature window of the clutch pack – especially important with short shift windows, high engine speeds and repeated thermal load.
Installation notes
Installation & flywheel
Flywheel contour: The flywheel contour must be checked when using the SACHS RCS 200 racing clutch. Precise machining of the flywheel is a prerequisite for clutch function, runout accuracy and long-term performance.
Housing selection: Before installation, check whether the selected clutch housing matches the exact RCS 200 configuration. Part number 003072000420 is intended for RCS 2/200 2.6 and RCS 1/200 7.8. Part number 003072000421 is intended for RCS 3/200 2.6 and RCS 2/200 7.8.
Fastening: M8 socket-head screws of at least strength class 10.9 with washers are recommended for fastening the clutch. The tightening torque is 25 Nm.
Overhaul: Check housing guides, contact surfaces, coating and fits regularly. In case of wear, damage or impermissible play, assess adjacent components together to ensure clamping force, torque transfer and shift precision permanently.
