Designed to make a
difference
ZF Race Engineering's SACHS motorsport clutches have stood for top-tier quality in international racing for decades. The ambition: continuous improvement and the drive to keep pushing the limits. From the lightest clutch used in Formula 1 to proven twin-plate and multi-plate systems in WRC, DTM, NASCAR, Le Mans and the Dakar Rally - ZF Motorsport technology is a core component of many winning cars worldwide.
SACHS Racing Clutch
Ford Mustang FP350S / GT350 GT4
Sintered metallic 7.8 mm, rigid version
Vehicle-specific for the Ford Mustang FP350S (2017) and Mustang GT350 GT4 (2018–2023): the twin-disc SACHS RCS 2/200 racing clutch delivers maximum reliability and crisp response for GT4 and club racing. The forged aluminum clutch housing combines low mass with high stiffness - ideal for endurance, sprint races, and demanding track day setups.
The 7.8 mm sintered metallic clutch discs with 200 mm diameter provide high friction stability and wear reserves. They ensure precise modulation at launches and during rapid shifts - perfectly matched to the 5.2 L V8 (“Voodoo”) with up to 580 hp in the FP350S and to the GT4 BoP configuration with approx. 430–450 hp in the GT350 GT4.
With a torque capacity of up to 2,233 Nm, the clutch withstands hard standing starts, pit stop cycles, and continuous duty. Precise, consistent modulation and repeatable performance - the hallmark of the SACHS RCS 2/200.

Advantages
High wear volume
High temperature resistance
Long operational life
Less Mass
One of the greatest strengths of the RCS sintered clutch is its low mass and the associated low mass inertia.
The SACHS RCS clutches have been designed for racing with the objective that torque is transmitted rapidly and directly from the engine to the gearbox.
Reducing the weight of the crankshaft drive to lower the moment of inertia will considerably increase vehicle acceleration performance in the lower gears.

Faster Acceleration
If the clutch itself has a moment of inertia (MoI) of 0.061 kgm2, the MoI on the drive wheel will be 180 times higher (in first gear) for a reduction in transmission of 13.4:1 (13.42). If we convert this value into vehicle mass, we arrive around 145 kg of additional weight to be accelerated in first gear.
As a result of the low moment of inertia of the SACHS RCS clutch, shifting times are considerably reduced and the vehicle accelerates much faster.

Clutch Housing
High-strength forged aluminum ensures maximum stiffness at minimal weight. The housing geometry promotes efficient heat dissipation and stabilizes the clutch pack temperature window - essential for the FP350S V8 and GT4 endurance configurations.
A wear-resistant hard coating protects against friction and fit wear and corrosion, extending service life - even with frequent launches and aggressive shifts in racing.
Friction Material
The RCS 2/200 sintered metallic discs use 7.8 mm linings with high thermal capacity. This build handles extreme temperatures and torque spikes - ideal for the naturally aspirated V8 and repeated launches. Direct response and a clear pressure point enable precise clutch engagement at race starts or pit stops.
Hub Spline Profile
Vehicle-specific hub spline profile: this RCS 2/200 is supplied with the exact hub spline for the Ford Mustang FP350S (2017) and GT350 GT4 (2018–2023) - precisely matched to the respective gearbox input shaft. This guarantees perfect fit, reliable power transfer, and maximum durability in motorsport. Custom solutions are available on request.

Installation instructions:
As SACHS RCS clutches have not been developed specifically for a vehicle, but are vehicle-independent, the vehicle must be adapted to the clutch (see PDF documents above). The contour of the flywheel, the position, the travel and the shape of the release mechanism as well as the maximum available installation space must be checked and adapted if necessary.
Required information:
When ordering your SACHS RCS clutch, the required profile of the transmission input shaft must be specified. The different profiles offered are listed under „hub profile“. If you have any questions about the product, please do not hesitate to contact us via E-Mail or by telephone on +49 (0)40 / 3999 211.
