SACHS RCS 184 Clutch Intermediate Plate 003019000336
Intermediate plate (floater) for SACHS RCS 184 multi-plate racing clutches
The SACHS RCS 184 intermediate plate 003019000336 from ZF Motorsport works as a steel floater inside the friction pack of the 184 mm multi-plate clutch. It provides friction partners on both sides for sintered-metal or organic discs, transferring engine torque between friction discs and clutch housing. The additional friction faces allow the RCS 184 to safely transmit high torque with a compact overall height.
Manufactured from high-strength steel with precisely finished friction faces, the intermediate plate is matched to the geometry of the SACHS RCS 184 racing clutch. In combination with the corresponding pressure plate and approved RCS 184 friction discs (sintered-metal or organic), it forms a stiff, thermally robust friction pack with a clearly predictable response on circuit, rally and GT applications.
Thanks to the modular RCS 184 design, the intermediate plate can be selectively replaced during overhaul. We recommend checking intermediate plates and friction discs together and renewing them as a set if wear or runout limits are exceeded to preserve torque capacity, pedal feel and shift precision of the SACHS RCS 184 racing clutch in the long term.

Technology
RCS 184 Intermediate Plate
Function: In the SACHS RCS 184 racing clutch, the intermediate plate sits between two friction discs – depending on configuration with sintered-metal or organic lining. It provides bidirectional friction faces that transmit engine torque between discs and housing. Multiple friction planes allow the multi-plate clutch to handle higher torque at the same diameter than a single-plate system.
Design: High-strength steel with finely finished friction faces, outer tabs/teeth for positive guidance in the RCS 184 housing. Engineered for the mechanical and thermal loads of passenger-car motorsport, it supports an even wear pattern in the friction pack when combined with the matching RCS 184 discs.
Compatibility: Intermediate plate 003019000336 is intended for approved SACHS RCS 184 multi-plate configurations with sintered-metal or organic linings. Use only with the specified RCS 184 friction discs and corresponding pressure plate. Non-specified combinations may alter torque capacity and pedal feel.
Service note: During each overhaul, check intermediate plates for runout, thickness and surface condition. If permissible limits are exceeded or thermal marks are evident, replace together with the friction discs (sintered-metal or organic) to restore the original performance of the SACHS RCS 184 racing clutch.
