Racing Clutch Disc SACHS RCS 140 S2.6
Ultra-lightweight sintered metal clutch disc for modular SACHS RCS 140 racing clutches
The SACHS RCS 140 S2.6 sintered metal clutch disc from ZF Motorsport is the particularly lightweight version for modular SACHS RCS 140 multi-plate racing clutches. It combines the very compact 140 mm diameter with just 2.6 mm lining thickness and is designed for the lowest possible rotating mass, immediate power transmission and fast rpm changes.
Within the RCS 140 sintered metal clutch discs, the S2.6 version stands for maximum agility. Compared with S3.4, S5.2 and S7.8, it offers the lowest lining thickness and therefore the lowest moment of inertia. The wear reserve is deliberately designed for short, intensive application profiles where spontaneous response is more important than long service intervals.
The RCS 140 format is especially suitable for motorsport vehicles with limited installation space, short shift operations and high response requirements. The S2.6 clutch disc is therefore a technical solution for formula cars, prototypes, sprint applications, compact touring cars and rally vehicles with a consistently lightweight clutch layout.
Depending on the RCS 140 configuration, the SACHS RCS 140 S2.6 sintered metal clutch disc is available with different hub profiles and with short, medium and long hub lengths. Selection is made to match the intended hub length, the ZF gearbox code of the gearbox input shaft and the approved combination in the RCS 140 clutch pack.

Technology
Sintered metal 2.6 mm
The SACHS RCS 140 S2.6 sintered metal clutch disc is designed for low moment of inertia, fast rpm changes and immediate power transmission. The sintered friction lining supports very direct engagement behaviour and clear feedback in motorsport use.
The 2.6 mm lining thickness reduces the rotating mass in the clutch pack to a minimum. Compared with S3.4, S5.2 and S7.8, this variant does not focus on maximum wear reserve, but on particularly fast response during short and intensive load phases.
Thanks to the 140 mm diameter, the clutch disc remains extremely compact. The S2.6 version is therefore suitable for motorsport vehicles where limited installation space, low weight and precise power transmission are consistently prioritized.
Hub & hub length
The SACHS RCS 140 S2.6 sintered metal clutch discs are available with vehicle-specific hub profiles matched to the respective gearbox input shaft. The correct hub profile is essential for accurate fit, clean power transmission and operating reliability in motorsport.
The hub lengths short, medium and long are available for this product group. The short version is listed as RCS 140-S2.6-K-XXX, the medium version as RCS 140-S2.6-M-XXX and the long version as RCS 140-S2.6-L-XXX. The XXX acts as a placeholder for the ZF gearbox code of the gearbox input shaft or the respective hub profile.
When replacing a worn clutch disc, the existing hub length version of the SACHS RCS 140 clutch must be retained exactly. For new builds, conversions or individual assembly of an RCS 140 clutch pack, only the factory-approved hub length combinations for the respective clutch configuration may be used.
RCS 140 system
As part of the modular SACHS RCS 140 clutch system, the clutch disc is combined with approved pressure plates, intermediate plates and clutch covers. The decisive factors are the number of discs, lining thickness, installation height and the correct setup of the entire clutch pack.
The S2.6 version is the lightest sintered metal variant within the RCS 140 clutch discs. It is suitable for racing clutches where maximum agility, very compact design and direct engagement are more important than increased material reserve.

Applications
Formula & prototypes
Suitable for very compact race cars where minimum rotating mass, compact size and immediate power transmission are decisive.
Sprint & qualifying
The 2.6 mm version is suitable for short, intensive operating windows where spontaneous response, fast rev-up and precise engagement are the main priorities.
Circuit racing / touring cars
Ultra-lightweight clutch disc for compact touring car and circuit racing applications with frequent gear changes, direct power transmission and limited installation space.
Rally / rallycross
Direct sintered metal clutch disc for vehicles with changing grip conditions, fast load changes and a consistently lightweight clutch layout.
