The Technology
HIGH LOAD CAPACITY
The SACHS performance clutch for Audi TT (8N9) Roadster and other models is characterised, among other things, by a higher transmittable torque, greater resistance to thrust loads and higher thermal load capacity compared to a standard clutch. The clutch module 883089.000052 has been designed for engine speed until 12.000rpm.
SPORTIVE
Faster, sporty shifting is possible thanks to the shorter release travel. This makes them particularly suitable for use in tuning for the road, for long-distance and hill climb races (e.g. Group N) and for vehicles that are often driven with maximum payloads.
LIGHT
The existing dual-mass flywheel is replaced by the lightweight steel single-mass flywheel from SACHS Performance. Less rotating mass means faster engine revving, significantly improved throttle response and less stress on the crankshaft and bearings.
CLUTCH PRESSURE PLATE
The SACHS Performance clutch pressure plate for Audi TT (8N9) Roadster and other models is firmly bolted to the flywheel and, when engaged, transmits the engine torque to the clutch disc via the housing, the tangential leaf springs and the pressure plate.
Decisive factors for the design of the clutch pressure plate are the heat capacity of the pressure plate and the pressure and release force of the diaphragm spring. The diaphragm spring of the SACHS Performance pressure plate guarantees a high transmittable engine torque thanks to its shape, material and sporty characteristics.
CLUTCH DISC
The clutch disc from SACHS Performance with organic performance friction material for Audi TT (8N9) Roadster and other models has a higher thermal load capacity, is more resistant to engine speed and has a higher coefficient of friction than conventional organic clutch friction materials.
The torsion-sprung SACHS Performance clutch disc included in the clutch kit 883089.000052 dampens engine vibration and protects your vehicle's transmission. SACHS Performance spring-loaded clutch discs are equipped with stronger torsion dampers in order to be able to transmit a higher maximum engine torque.
Due to the mass reduction and stiffer connection resulting from the omission of the original dual-mass flywheel, increased transmission of transmission noise and vibrations cannot be ruled out.

SACHS Performance clutch in the VAG Motorsport

ZF has been a partner of Volkswagen Motorsport since 2003. ZF develops dampers and clutches for the Polo R WRC in the World Rally Championship. Moreover, ZF equips all vehicles in the Scirocco R-Cup and racing cars such as the Audi TT Cup and Audi R8 LMS.

DTM
Since the 2012 season, the three premium brands Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz have been fully relying on clutch systems from ZF for all their DTM vehicles.The racing clutch Formula Carbon Clutch 4/140Y has four carbon clutch plates. The clutch transmits a torque of up to 900 Nm and is designed for long durability.

24 Hours Nürburgring
Seven of the top ten teams lately relied on ZP clutches at the greatest long-distance race in Germany - including the first four of the overall rankings at the Nürburgring 24 Hour.Porsche crossed the finish line in third place, whose 911 is equipped with ZF clutches and dampers. The BMW teams who came fourth and sixth, the seventh-placed Audi and ninth-placed Nissan all use ZF clutches in their power transmission.
