Designed to make a
difference
ZF Race Engineering's SACHS motorsport clutches have stood for top-tier quality in international racing for decades. The ambition: continuous improvement and the drive to keep pushing the limits. From the lightest clutch used in Formula 1 to proven twin-plate and multi-plate systems in WRC, DTM, NASCAR, Le Mans and the Dakar Rally - ZF Motorsport technology is a core component of many winning cars worldwide.
SACHS Racing clutch module
Porsche 991 GT3 Cup
Sintered metal 3.4 mm, triple-plate – vehicle-specific for 991 Cup (3.8 L / 4.0 L)
Complete, vehicle-specific clutch module for the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (991): lightweight single-mass flywheel + RCS 3/140 motorsport clutch + motorsport concentric slave cylinder (CSC) – configured as a system for maximum durability, precise launches and short shift windows.
The SACHS RCS 3/140 S3.4 uses the compact Ø 140 mm friction diameter and three friction plates for very low rotational inertia and immediate response – ideal for the launch and shifting demands of the 991.1 (3.8 L, approx. 460 hp, 2014–2016) and 991.2 (4.0 L, approx. 485 hp, 2017–2019) with 6-speed sequential gearbox (dog-type, paddle shift).
The 3.4-mm sintered lining is designed for service life and thermal stability in one-make cup racing. Versus 2.6-mm setups it offers more thermal reserve; versus 5.2-mm it keeps rotating mass lower and thermal recovery faster – the bite point remains constant over many race starts and stints.
The design transmits up to 1,450 Nm. The forged aluminium cover combines high stiffness with minimal package space; pressure and intermediate plates made of high-strength steel ensure launch and endurance strength – precisely matched to the 991 Cup platform.

Advantages
Light
low clutch height
Low mass and inertia
Less Mass
One of the greatest strengths of the RCS sintered clutch is its low mass and the associated low mass inertia.
The SACHS RCS clutches have been designed for racing with the objective that torque is transmitted rapidly and directly from the engine to the gearbox.
Reducing the weight of the crankshaft drive to lower the moment of inertia will considerably increase vehicle acceleration performance in the lower gears.

Faster Acceleration
If the clutch itself has a moment of inertia (MoI) of 0.061 kgm2, the MoI on the drive wheel will be 180 times higher (in first gear) for a reduction in transmission of 13.4:1 (13.42). If we convert this value into vehicle mass, we arrive around 145 kg of additional weight to be accelerated in first gear.
As a result of the low moment of inertia of the SACHS RCS clutch, shifting times are considerably reduced and the vehicle accelerates much faster.

Clutch housing
High-strength forged aluminium, designed for maximum stiffness with minimal package space. The geometry supports efficient heat dissipation and stabilises the clutch pack’s temperature window – suited to continuous use in the 991 Cup.
Friction lining
Sintered metal provides high temperature resistance, consistent friction and fade resistance in dry high-load use. 3.4 mm hits the balanced mix of thermal buffer, service life and low rotating mass – ideal for repeated starts, pit stops and tight shift windows in one-make series.
Hub profile
Delivered to fit the input shaft of the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (991.1/991.2, incl. G91/70 sequential). This ensures maximum accuracy of fit, reliable torque transfer and maximum durability in motorsport use.
Concentric slave cylinder (CSC)
The motorsport CSC specifically designed for SACHS RCS/RCC reduces pedal forces thanks to its larger hydraulic volume. A one-piece, high-strength housing minimises leakage risk; bearings and seal systems are optimised for racing speeds. Actuation diameter matched to RCC/RCS: Ø 38 mm.
