SACHS RCS 140 Adapter Plate
Precisely fitting adapter plate for SACHS RCS 140 racing clutches
The SACHS RCS 140 adapter plate is a precisely fitting connecting element between the flywheel and the modular SACHS RCS racing clutch. It provides the required contour for the RCS 140 clutch, acts as a replaceable friction partner and protects the flywheel from direct wear.
Especially with high-quality motorsport flywheels or flywheels without a suitable RCS contour, the adapter plate is a technically sound solution. It enables clean centring, reproducible installation and a flywheel-friendly design of the complete clutch system.

Versions
System: SACHS RCS 140 racing clutch
Part number: 00 3021 999 524
Component: adapter plate for RCS 140 clutch systems
Function: protection of the flywheel and provision of the required RCS contour
Centring: on the outer diameter in the flywheel
Note: the adapter plate is designed specifically for SACHS RCS 140 racing clutches. Selection and installation must match the flywheel, clutch version, friction material and application profile.

Technology
RCS 140 adapter plate
Function: The adapter plate is installed between the flywheel and the SACHS RCS 140 racing clutch. It acts as a replaceable friction partner and prevents wear from occurring directly on the flywheel. This helps protect the flywheel and simplifies maintenance of the clutch system.
RCS contour: SACHS RCS racing clutches require an exactly matching flywheel contour. If this contour cannot be machined directly into the existing flywheel, or if the flywheel is to be protected from wear, the RCS 140 adapter plate provides the required geometry.
Centring: The adapter plate is centred in the flywheel on the outer diameter. This centring is essential for axial runout, radial runout and even loading of the clutch components in motorsport operation.
Dynamics: With a weight of 0.77 kg and a moment of inertia of 0.0034 kg·m², the adapter plate matches the compact RCS 140 size. It supports a lightweight, free-revving clutch unit with fast response and precise torque lock-up.
Application: The SACHS RCS 140 adapter plate is suitable for motorsport applications where a compact multi-plate racing clutch is to be combined with high serviceability, the correct RCS contour and flywheel-friendly installation.
Installation notes
Installation & centring
Flywheel machining: The adapter plate must be centred in the flywheel. Centring is performed on the outer diameter and must be at least 1 mm deep. Precise machining is required for function, runout and long-term performance of the SACHS RCS 140 racing clutch.
Installation position: The adapter plate serves as an intermediate layer between the flywheel and the clutch. It must sit flat, be cleanly centred and match the contour of the RCS 140 clutch. Before installation, contact surfaces, centring and fastening points must be checked.
Service inspection: Check the friction surface, centring shoulder, contact surfaces and bolted joint regularly. In the event of wear, scoring, distortion or damage, the adapter plate should be assessed together with the clutch and flywheel to ensure repeatable torque transmission.
