Release Bearing SACHS

Clutch Release Bearing, ZF SACHS - 053151.231031

The SACHS clutch release bearing 053151.231031 forms the connection between the rotating clutch and the static actuating system. It is responsible for making sure the clutch functions reliably.

The ever increasing efficiency optimization on modern drivelines results in an increasing susceptibility to vibration phenomena. The flexible SACHS clutch release bearing decouples vibrations that originate from the engine and are transmitted to the clutch system, thus reducing driveline vibrations.

Absolute noiselessness and uncompromising reliability under any kind of operating condition must be ensured over its entire service life. With the SACHS clutch release bearing from ZF it is possible to compensate for a potential assembly- or tolerance-related off set.

The Technology

There is normally no play between the clutch releaser and the clutch (diaphragm spring), i.e. the releaser rotates with the clutch disc. The actuating system generates a preload, which ensures that the clutch and the thrust ring rotate at the same speed. Differences in rotational speeds would cause noise and higher levels of wear.

SCHEMATIC STRUCTURE

TESTING AND INSTALLATION

To reduce weight, most release clutch bearing housings from SACHS, among others, are now made of synthetic materials. Special plastics which have been modified with regards to wear, friction, and form stability are used for the sliding sleeve. The inner and outer ring of the clutch release bearing are high-precision, high-strength steel parts. In order to guarantee reliable lubrication of the ball-bearing grooves over the entire service life, only special grease is used.

Quality "Made in Germany"

The clutch systems from ZF Race Engineering have brought motor sports teams worldwide to the forefront, from mass sports to Formula 1.

The knowledge gained from these race series has been flowing into the development of High Performance products for years.
