Designed to make a
difference
SACHS motorsport clutches from ZF Race Engineering have delivered front-running performance in international racing for decades - always pushing development and redefining what is possible. From the lightest Formula 1 racing clutch to proven multi-plate systems in WRC, DTM, NASCAR, Le Mans and the Dakar Rally, ZF Motorsport technology drives championship-winning cars worldwide. At the same time, SACHS has long been an OE supplier of organic clutches to leading car makers - real-world know-how that flows into every racing clutch system.
SACHS Racing Clutch
RCS 1/200 O7.8
Organic 7.8 mm, rigid hub
The SACHS RCS 1/200 racing clutch with 7.8 mm organic friction lining combines long-term durability with outstanding modulation. The organic lining engages smoothly and predictably, reduces drivetrain shock loads and delivers a calm, repeatable pedal feel - ideal for slalom, rally and demanding track-day cars.
The increased lining thickness adds wear reserve and stabilises the bite point across repeated temperature and load cycles within the organic operating window. In this configuration, up to 561 Nm of maximum engine torque is achievable. The high-strength forged aluminium cover keeps weight low and stiffness high, ensuring consistent conditions and efficient heat dissipation.
The pressure plate is supplied exclusively in high-strength steel. Compared with cast parts, steel resists mechanical and thermal peaks far better and is fully launch-safe - ideal for standing starts, intensive pit-stop cycles and repeated full-load operation.

Advantages
Easy on the transmission
Soft clutch engagement
Low wear on the flywheel friction surface
Less Mass
One of the greatest strengths of the RCS sintered clutch is its low mass and the associated low mass inertia.
The SACHS RCS clutches have been designed for racing with the objective that torque is transmitted rapidly and directly from the engine to the gearbox.
Reducing the weight of the crankshaft drive to lower the moment of inertia will considerably increase vehicle acceleration performance in the lower gears.

Faster Acceleration
If the clutch itself has a moment of inertia (MoI) of 0.061 kgm2, the MoI on the drive wheel will be 180 times higher (in first gear) for a reduction in transmission of 13.4:1 (13.42). If we convert this value into vehicle mass, we arrive around 145 kg of additional weight to be accelerated in first gear.
As a result of the low moment of inertia of the SACHS RCS clutch, shifting times are considerably reduced and the vehicle accelerates much faster.

Clutch cover
The SACHS RCS 200 clutch cover is made from high-strength forged aluminium and engineered for maximum stiffness at minimum weight. Its housing geometry supports efficient heat rejection and stabilises the clutch pack's temperature window.
A key feature is the extremely wear-resistant patented aluminium hard-coat. This full-surface coating reduces friction and fit wear, protects against corrosion and ensures long service life.
Friction lining - organic
Organic friction maximises drivability: progressive bite build-up, fine modulation and lower NVH (noise/vibration/harshness). The result is a calm, repeatable bite point with precise slip control - ideal for clean launches, traction out of slow corners and consistent lap times.
The softer fibre-reinforced matrix reduces shock loads in the drivetrain, protecting gearbox, differential and joints while putting less stress on the tyres. Within the intended temperature window, the friction coefficient remains stable, wear is even and pedal feel stays consistent over many cycles - perfect for track days, club sport and endurance with a focus on control.
SACHS RCS hub
SACHS RCS 1/200 O7.8 racing clutches are available with multiple spline profiles precisely matched to the gearbox input shaft. This ensures perfect fit, reliable torque transfer and maximum durability under hard motorsport use.
Hub lengths are available in short, medium and long to suit packaging and guarantee correct actuation. The modular RCS 200 system enables a tailor-made racing clutch with maximum performance, thermal capacity and service life. Standard specification (unless stated otherwise): hub length long.

Installation instructions:
As SACHS RCS clutches have not been developed specifically for a vehicle, but are vehicle-independent, the vehicle must be adapted to the clutch (see PDF documents above). The contour of the flywheel, the position, the travel and the shape of the release mechanism as well as the maximum available installation space must be checked and adapted if necessary.
Required information:
When ordering your SACHS RCS clutch, the required profile of the transmission input shaft must be specified. The different profiles offered are listed under „hub profile“. If you have any questions about the product, please do not hesitate to contact us via E-Mail or by telephone on +49 (0)40 / 3999 211.
