The SACHS clutch release bearing 043151.271937P forms the connection between the rotating clutch and the static actuating system. It is responsible for making sure the clutch functions reliably.

The ever increasing efficiency optimization on modern drivelines results in an increasing susceptibility to vibration phenomena. The Technology

 

There is normally no play between the clutch releaser and the clutch (diaphragm spring), i.e. the releaser rotates with the clutch disc. The actuating system generates a preload, which ensures that the clutch and the thrust ring rotate at the same speed. Differences in rotational speeds would cause noise and higher levels of wear.

To reduce weight, most release clutch bearing housings from SACHS, among others, are now made of synthetic materials. Special plastics which have been modified with regards to wear, friction, and form stability are used for the sliding sleeve. The inner and outer ring of the clutch release bearing are high-precision, high-strength steel parts. In order to guarantee reliable lubrication of the ball-bearing grooves over the entire service life, only special grease is used.
