Replacement friction pack for SACHS carbon racing clutch RCC 3/140
The carbon pack (3 friction discs + intermediate plates) restores the nominal stack height and the correct kinematics of the diaphragm spring. On RCC 140 the base plate is designed in a single build height; wear compensation is achieved by selecting the appropriate pressure ring. This keeps torque capacity, pedal feel and clamp load stable over the service interval.

Technology
Carbon pack RCC 140
Replace a worn carbon friction pack on RCC 3/140 clutches when the wear limit is reached or wear is uneven. After installation, set the exact stack height using the correct pressure ring; incorrect (too early/too thick) ring steps will cause malfunction.
Practice / installation notes
Measure stack height: determine the carbon pack (friction and intermediate plates); measuring points as per RCC 140 series specification.
Ring selection: when replacing the carbon pack, use a new reference pressure ring to restore the intended wear-in/stack geometry.
Base plate inspection: although the build height is fixed, the base plate also wears. At each overhaul check run-out/surface/thickness and replace together with the new pressure ring if required.
Functional check: after assembly, verify release travel/clearance; misadjustment leads to slip and heat.
