Clutch Central Slave Cylinder (CSC), ZF SACHS

Clutch Central Slave Cylinder (CSC), ZF SACHS - 613182.654193

The ZF SACHS concentric slave cylinder (CSC) is the transmission link between the rotating clutch and the stationary actuation system. It is responsible for the safe functioning of the clutch. Just like the clutch or the flywheel, the CSC is subject to wear and replacement is recommended when changing the clutch or removing the transmission

THE TECHNOLOGY

The SACHS clutch CSC has an integrated slave cylinder. This eliminates the release fork between the release lever and slave cylinder as well as the corresponding bearing points. It is mounted directly on the transmission. CSC releasers are used when there is insufficient installation space for conventional clutch actuation.

The central clutch release (CSC) 613182.654193 offers considerable advantages compared to conventional clutch release systems. By reducing the number of mechanically operating components, vibrations and starting pops are significantly reduced. This results in maximum driving comfort for the driver. It is recommended that the central clutch release (CSC) is replaced whenever the clutch is repaired in order to avoid delayed signs of wear and prevent additional repairs.

SCHEMATIC DESIGN

Clutch Central Slave Cylinder (CSC), ZF SACHS - 613182.654193

The SACHS concentric slave cylinder (CSC) is mounted directly on the transmission and provides backlash-free adjustment of the diaphragm spring clutch. This means that the SACHS clutch release is constantly engaged when the clutch is rotating. A preload generated by the actuation system ensures that the clutch and the clutch release ring have the same speed. This effectively prevents noise and increased wear.

All SACHS release mechanisms are designed to be self-centering in order to compensate for misalignment tolerances between the clutch diaphragm spring and the thrust surface of the release bearing. They are radially displaceable by approx. 1.5 mm and automatically center themselves on the diaphragm spring tongues of the clutch during the first clutch actuations. This design ensures optimum function and durability of the system.

TESTING AND INSTALLATION

If the clutch slave cylinder is to be replaced, there are a few important steps and instructions to follow. The central slave cylinder (CSC) may only be installed when it is filled and bled. This means that it must be correctly installed in the clutch bell housing of the transmission. The clutch and transmission should first be fully reconnected to the engine.

Please note that the hydraulic fluid must always be filled in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. The system is bled using the devices provided for this purpose. It is also important that the system may only be pressurized when the central release is in the installation position.
