This keeps the torque capacity of the 184 mm carbon racing clutch stable – with a clean pedal feel and repeatable clamp load.

Shim kit contents: 4 base plates + 3 pressure rings in finely graduated thicknesses for precise service setups.
Maximum wear compensation: up to 5.75 mm (via suitable combinations per wear table).

Technology

Shim kit RCS 3/184

Function: targeted compensation of carbon-stack wear. Base plates primarily restore static stack height, while pressure rings fine-tune the fulcrum/clamp point at the clutch base plate. Together they return the diaphragm spring’s working range to nominal – for consistent clamp load, controlled release travel and minimized slip.

Steps: finely graduated 0.25 mm increments to precisely restore installation height and resulting kinematics.

Shim concept: 4 base plates + 3 pressure rings per set; wear compensation up to 5.75 mm via suitable combinations (see wear-compensation table).

Material: high-strength tempered steel with surface finish for temperature and load-cycle resistance.

Quality standard: manufactured to ZF Motorsport specification; tight runout and thickness tolerances for repeatable results.

Practice / installation notes

Measure stack height: measure the carbon pack (friction and intermediate plates) per series specification; use RCS 3/184 reference dimensions.

Target/actual comparison: use the series wear values; the difference defines the required compensation.

Ring/plate selection: choose a combination that keeps installation height within the target range. Avoid over-compensation.

Observe wear limit: if exceeded, replace the RCS 3/184 carbon pack – changing rings/plates alone is not sufficient.
