The BMW 5 Series E34 (1988–1996) proved its long-term quality as a robust executive sedan and was also offered as the first M5 Touring. The 530i V8 with the M60 3.0-litre V8 and 160 kW was the entry point to the E34's new V8 engine family from 1992. With the M60 series V8 engines from 1992, the E34 gained a new dimension of performance combining effortless power with typical BMW refinement.
