The Audi A4 B6 was based on the completely new PL46 platform from 2000 and offered confident performance in the upper mid-range with its V6 engines. The 2.4-litre V6 with 120-125 kW served as the comfortable mid-range engine with V6 refinement at a more moderate price than the 3.0. With no RS4 on the B6 platform, the S4 with its all-aluminium 4.2-litre V8 producing 344 PS was the unmatched flagship.
