With the A4 B6 from 2000, Audi presented an entirely new design on the PL46 platform, fundamentally different from the B5 predecessor in its engineering. The 1.8T was available in the B6 in various power levels from 110 to 140 kW, benefiting from the new platform's stiffer body structure. The B6 also introduced the FSI direct injection concept to the A4 range, significantly improving petrol engine efficiency.
