The Audi 80/90 B3 was the second Audi model range with a fully galvanized body — after the 100 C3 in 1985 — offering an unprecedented 10-year corrosion warranty that was later extended to 12 years. The 2.3-litre 20V five-cylinder quattro with 170 PS was the top engine of the 90, combining Audi's five-cylinder tradition with all-wheel drive and four-valve technology into a confident sports car. As the first Audi 80 generation to separate from the shared VW Passat platform, the B3 received its own independent design optimised for rigidity.
