With the A4 B6 from 2000, Audi presented an entirely new design on the PL46 platform, fundamentally different from the B5 predecessor in its engineering. The quattro version of the 1.8T combined the proven turbo engine with 110-140 kW and the B6's permanent all-wheel drive system. The B6 also introduced the FSI direct injection concept to the A4 range, significantly improving petrol engine efficiency.
