The Audi 100 C3 revolutionised executive class aerodynamics in 1982 with its record Cd of 0.30 and became the first Audi with a fully galvanized body in 1985. The Audi 200 as the luxury and turbo version of the 100 won the 1988 Trans-Am championship with the 200 quattro Trans-Am and its 510 bhp turbo five-cylinder — but was subsequently banned from the series due to its all-wheel drive dominance.
