The Audi A4 B6 from 2000 was a complete new design on the PL46 platform, clearly distinguishing itself from the B5 predecessor and adopting design elements from the larger A6. With the S4 B6 and its all-aluminium 4.2-litre V8 producing 344 PS, the range offered a flagship that pushed beyond mid-size class boundaries.
