The Audi A4 B7 was a comprehensively revised version of the B6, arriving in 2004 with sharpened design and improved technology. The RS4 B7 with its high-revving 4.2-litre naturally aspirated V8 producing 420 PS at 7,800 rpm was one of the last great NA V8s in a sports saloon — unlike the predecessor RS4 B5, it was also available as a saloon and cabriolet. In DTM racing, the Audi A4 DTM dominated from 2004 to 2011, claiming championship titles in 2004, 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2011.
