The BMW 2 Series has encompassed since 2013 the coupé/convertible (F22/F23), Active Tourer (F45), Gran Tourer (F46), Gran Coupé (F44) and the M2 high-performance variant (F87). The M2 (F87) with its S55-based engine producing 370 PS was the spiritual successor to the BMW 2002 turbo and the 1M Coupé — compact, direct and uncompromising. With the F45 Active Tourer and F46 Gran Tourer, BMW entered the front-wheel-drive van segment for the first time — a bold move that opened new customer groups.
