The BMW 5 Series F10/F11 (2010–2016) returned to a more conservative design after the polarising E60, focusing on lightweight construction with aluminium chassis components. The M5 F10 with the S63 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 producing 560 PS marked the shift from naturally aspirated to turbocharged power in M5 history, reaching 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds. The G30/G31 from 2016 continued this philosophy with even more lightweight technology and cutting-edge driver assistance.
