Nei motori moderni, coppie più elevate, maggiori pressioni all'accensione e normative sulle emissioni più severe, provocano sempre più irregolarità di rotazione del motore e quindi maggiori vibrazioni dei propulsori. Le maggiori richieste di comfort e conducibilità, nonché misure per proteggere il cambio richiedono smorzatori torsionali estremamente potenti.

Riduzione del consumo di carburante grazie a regimi minimi più bassi e la guida senza problemi a basso regime.
Elevato comfort del cambio, poiché la forza del cambio è inferiore a causa del momento d'inerzia della massa del disco della frizione senza smorzatore di torsione

Funzione

Con volano frizione SACHS si impiega una curva a più fasi. La prima fase con sospensioni morbide assicura avviamento e arresto del motore eccellenti. Con la seconda fase a sospensioni più rigide si ottiene, durante il normale funzionamento, un isolamento perfetto delle vibrazioni torsionali.
