SACHS Clutch Pressure Plate 003002001470
Service pressure plate for modular SACHS RCS 140 motorsport clutch (sintered metal)
Consistent clamp load and defined torque capacity: the SACHS RCS 140 pressure plate 003002001470 from ZF Motorsport is a key module of the RCS 140 sintered-metal motorsport clutches. It transfers the diaphragm spring force to the friction pack and largely determines how much torque the clutch can safely transmit over its service life. Together with the matching intermediate plates and sintered discs, the pressure plate ensures precise, repeatable clutch response.
The pressure plate is made of high-strength steel with a precisely machined friction face. Designed as a service part for modular multi-plate systems, it is tailored to the specific RCS 140 clutch version. This preserves the defined diaphragm-spring geometry without replacing the clutch cover.
During overhaul, always check the pressure plate (run-out, thickness, surface condition). If warpage or wear exceeds allowable limits, replace it together with friction and intermediate plates. Only then will torque capacity, pedal feel and shift quality of the SACHS motorsport clutch remain at race level.

Key benefits at a glance:
Stable clamp load and torque capacity across the wear window
Engineered specifically for RCS multi-plate systems
High-strength steel, low-distortion design for RCS 140 clutches
Precisely machined friction faces for consistent performance
Service-friendly – replaceable as a single module

Technology
RCS 140 pressure plate
Function: The pressure plate transfers diaphragm-spring force to the friction pack, clamping sintered discs and intermediate plates against the flywheel. It defines effective clamp load and thus influences torque capacity, launch behaviour and shift repeatability.
Design: High-strength steel with a precision-ground friction face and outer toothing for a positive connection to the RCS clutch cover. Geometry is matched to the RCS 140 diaphragm spring and size so the spring characteristic remains within its intended range even under high thermal and mechanical load.
Series binding: Each pressure plate is specified for a defined RCS series and execution. Do not combine with non-approved friction or intermediate plates, as this can impair torque capacity and clutch function.
Quality standard: Manufactured to ZF Motorsport specifications with tight run-out and thickness tolerances. This minimises warpage, reduces local hot spots on the friction face and supports uniform loading of the sintered stack.
Practice / installation notes
Verify series: Before ordering, ensure pressure plate, intermediate plates and sintered discs match the respective RCS series. Binding references are the ZF Motorsport catalogue data and the specific clutch series code.
Run-out & thickness: At every overhaul, check the pressure plate for warpage and minimum thickness. Pronounced discolouration, cracking or run-out beyond tolerance indicates thermal overload – replace the pressure plate, do not re-machine.
Combination with sintered discs: Lining thickness (e.g. 2.6 / 3.4 / 5.2 / 7.8 mm depending on system) and number of discs must match the specified clutch version. Deviations from manufacturer approval can reduce torque capacity or markedly change pedal feel.
Observe operating limits: If performance drops (slip, excessive temperatures, altered spring characteristic), a complete service of the friction pack with replacement of worn parts is required. Replacing the pressure plate alone will not restore original performance.
