Sintered metal 3.4 mm, triple-plate – vehicle-specific for the 992 GT3 Cup

Vehicle-specific for the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (992, model year 2021 onwards): the SACHS RCS 3/140 S3.4 uses the compact Ø 140 mm and three friction discs for a very low moment of inertia and direct response – precisely matched to the 4.0-liter flat-six (approx. 510 hp / ~470 Nm) and Porsche’s 6-speed paddle-shifted dog-type sequential gearbox.

The 3.4-mm sintered lining is designed for sprint and long-stint loads in one-make cups: more thermal reserve than 2.6-mm while keeping rotating mass low. This stabilises bite point and modulation over many race starts, pit stops and tight shift windows.

The setup transmits up to 1,450 Nm. A forged aluminium housing minimises package size and mass; high-strength steel pressure/intermediate plates ensure launch and durability performance in tough Cup use.

One of the greatest strengths of the RCS sintered clutch is its low mass and the associated low mass inertia.

The SACHS RCS clutches have been designed for racing with the objective that torque is transmitted rapidly and directly from the engine to the gearbox.

Reducing the weight of the crankshaft drive to lower the moment of inertia will considerably increase vehicle acceleration performance in the lower gears.



Faster Acceleration

If the clutch itself has a moment of inertia (MoI) of 0.061 kgm2, the MoI on the drive wheel will be 180 times higher (in first gear) for a reduction in transmission of 13.4:1 (13.42). If we convert this value into vehicle mass, we arrive around 145 kg of additional weight to be accelerated in first gear.

As a result of the low moment of inertia of the SACHS RCS clutch, shifting times are considerably reduced and the vehicle accelerates much faster.

Clutch housing

High-strength forged aluminium, engineered for maximum stiffness with minimal package size. The geometry aids heat dissipation and stabilises the clutch pack’s temperature window; a hard wear-resistant coating reduces friction and fretting wear.

Friction material

Sintered metal provides high temperature capability, stable friction and fade resistance in dry high-load operation. At 3.4 mm it hits the best-of-both-worlds compromise: noticeably more thermal buffer and life than 2.6 mm, lower inertia than 5.2 mm – ideal for Cup sprints and long stints.

Hub spline

Supplied exactly matched to the input shaft of the 992 GT3 Cup gearbox. Ensures maximum fit accuracy, reliable torque transfer and durability.
